ABOUT THIS CONCERT

Take a sonic adventure through the centuries with this livestream concert spotlighting the Symphony’s brass and percussion sections. Hear stately music of Gervaise and Handel, feel the jaunty rhythms of “King of Ragtime” Scott Joplin, and make a stop at the unexpected with John Cage’s hypnotic “Third Construction” for percussion, which uses everything from tin cans and cowbells to cricket callers and a conch shell. For the grand finale, brass and percussion come together for Abreu’s showstopping Tico Tico.
