The Classical Series
This season, you’ll experience some of the most beloved masterpieces ever composed—Beethoven’s Eroica Symphony, Mahler’s Symphony No. 6, Carmina Burana, Pines of Rome, Grieg’s Piano Concerto, Rachmaninoff’s Symphonic Dances, Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 5, Brahms’s A German Requiem, and more. You’ll also see award-winning soloists from across the globe, including piano prodigies Jean-Yves Thibaudet and Emanuel Ax, and violin virtuosos Itzhak Perlman and Augustin Hadelich. The Symphony unveils brand-new works by Julia Wolfe and Jimmy López Bellido. And, Music Director Juraj Valčuha leads fascinating multi-week spotlights exploring the music of Richard Strauss, music that takes its cue from dance, and works that embody themes of tragedy and triumph.
