ABOUT THIS CONCERT
Juilliard-trained concert pianist and Harvard-educated psychiatrist Dr. Richard Kogan returns to Jones Hall with a deep-dive into one of the most iconic figures in American music, George Gershwin. Combining his psychology and music backgrounds, Dr. Kogan presents insights into Gershwin’s life, mind, and music, and performs Gershwin’s Three Preludes with Houston Symphony violinist Tong Yan. Presented in partnership with Houston Methodist, this special event precedes the Symphony’s Friday, February 2 performance of Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue.
