We are excited to announce the Houston Symphony’s 2021 Wine Dinner and Collector’s Auction. This oenophile’s celebration presents the traditional extensive auction and gourmet dinner on Friday, April 23, 2021.

The night includes:

  • Extensive Collector’s Auction where you may find rare, and exceptional wines, your favorite vintage, spirits, and related experiences
  • A seated, multi-course dinner with wines thoughtfully chosen by Lindy and John Rydman of Spec’s Wines, Spirits & Finer Foods
  • A chance to win an illustrious case of 100-point wines, rated 100 points by Robert Parker

This exclusive annual gala supports the Houston Symphony’s industry-leading Education and Community Engagement initiatives, at Jones Hall and in schools, hospitals and other venues throughout the city. These activities serve more than 181,000 Houstonians from all walks of life, including 114,000 children, each year.

Every year, the event begins with a reception for guests to sip wine and champagne, explore a variety of outstanding wines and wine-related items in the extensive silent auction, and participate in the ever-popular raffle to win 12 bottles of 100-point wine. Best of all, every dollar raised through the auction supports the Symphony’s nationally-recognized Education and Community Engagement initiatives that serve more than 181,000 Houstonians, including 114,000 children, each year.

All bidding will be done electronically through your mobile device. An online auction catalog will be available to view 1-2 weeks prior to the event.

Social Distancing: Social Distancing and COVID-19 Safety Protocols will be observed at this event, including but not limited to: Masks are required at all times when not eating or drinking, including entering and exiting the venue; Hand sanitizer is available throughout the event space; Tables are socially distanced; Check out and departure will be staggered by table. Additional information will be sent to attendees prior to the day of the event.

Parking: Complimentary valet is a benefit to all table and ticket buyers. We encourage our patrons to consider Uber or Lyft for transportation needs for the evening. There is a dedicated ride-share drop-off and pick-up point.

Arrival and Registration: Upon your arrival, temperature checks will be performed. Please follow the signs to the check-in area to receive your table number, and activate your bidder number. A credit card number is required to activate your bidder number.

2021 Mediterranean Moonlight Symphony Dinner
Sunday, March 28 at 6 p.m.
Hosted by Sean Beck, Sommelier and Beverage Director with Backstreet Café

This four-course meal paired with spirits and wines is hosted and crafted by Sean Beck, Sommelier and Beverage Director with Backstreet Café. Sean and his special guests from the industry will lead you virtually through this exquisite dinner as a prelude to the in-person Houston Symphony Wine Dinner & Collector’s Auction.

  • Cost per couple is $250, with $100 going directly to the Collector’s Auction.
  • All tickets must be purchased by March 24 at 12 p.m.
  • Food and beverage pick-up will be at Backstreet Café located at 1103 S. Shepherd between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. on March 28
  • Delivery is available inside the loop and to the Galleria/Tanglewood area for an additional $15
  • A zoom weblink with easy instructions will be sent to you prior to the dinner on March 28
  • Vegetarian options are available
