Houston Symphony Announces New CEO
While watching the Houston Symphony perform Brahm on Thursday night, the organization’s next CEO noticed the familiar blue illumination of a cell phone.
Friday afternoon John Mangum was announced as the next Margaret Alkek Williams Executive Director/CEO Chair of the Houston Symphony about 18 hours after a concert-goer next to him felt the need to document the performance, which didn’t sit well with any of his neighbors.
Mangum replaces Mark C. Hanson, who departed last summer to work at the San Francisco Symphony.
