The Music of Pink Floyd – Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion

Berklee-trained arranger/conductor Brent Havens has written music for orchestras, feature films, and virtually every kind of television. His TV work includes movies for networks such as ABC, CBS, and ABC Family Channel Network; commercials; sports music for networks such as ESPN; and even cartoons.
Brent has worked with the Doobie Brothers and the Milwaukee Symphony, arranging, and conducting the combined group for Harley Davidson’s 100th Anniversary Birthday Party Finale attended by more than 150,000 fans. He recently completed the score for the film Quo Vadis, a Premier Pictures remake of the 1956 gladiator film. In 2013, he worked with the Baltimore Symphony and the NFL’s Baltimore Ravens to arrange and produce the music for the Thanksgiving Day halftime show between the Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers, adapting both classical music and rock songs into a single four-minute show.
In addition to the Houston Symphony, Brent has worked with some of the world’s greatest orchestras, including the Royal Philharmonic and the BBC Concert Orchestra in London, the CBSO in Birmingham, the Malaysian Philharmonic, the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, the Minnesota Orchestra, the Pittsburgh Symphony, the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, the Atlanta Symphony, the Baltimore Symphony, the Dallas Symphony, the Fort Worth Symphony, the Nashville Symphony, Orchestra of Opera North in Leeds, and countless others. Brent is arranger/guest conductor for all the symphonic rock programs for Windborne Music.

A native of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Andrew Payne has been playing drums for more than 35 years. He started playing professionally at age 16 and has taught music since 1987. He attended the Berklee College of Music, where he won two scholarships, including a Buddy Rich award. Andrew went on to tour and become the music director for Grammy Award-winning CCM artist Rebecca St. James. He also toured with Michael Sweet of Stryper fame and currently plays with his original band, Divine Ratio, when not traveling with Windborne. He has held product endorsements with Attack drum heads and Pro-Mark drumsticks.

Dan Clemens has been playing bass since the age of 13. A 1989 graduate of Berklee College of Music, he has performed in bands throughout the United States. In 1993 he formed “Waterworks” which received the Budweiser Best Unsigned Band sponsorship for the next two years.
Clemens has also recorded Radio and Television jingles along with independent music CD’s. He has toured with the Virginia Opera and performed with the Virginia Symphony and Chorus. His bands have opened up for various musical acts including Fleetwood Mac, Little Feet, Del Amitri , The Romantics, and The Hooters. Clemens has also performed with Elliot Easton of The Cars and Robbie Krieger of The Doors. A bass player with Windborne Music since it’s beginning he has played with orchestras all over the world in cities such as Atlanta, Denver, Detroit, Toronto, Los Angeles, and Kuala Lumpur.

Saxophonist Eddie Williams was born in Newport News, Virginia. He attended Berklee School of Music in the early 70’s to study performance and improvisation. Relocating in the early 1980’s to the West Coast, Eddie performed in LA and Las Vegas with Vocalist Jeannine Marie, opening for stars such as George Carlin and Bill Cosby. Returning to the East Coast, Eddie was an instructor at the Governors School for the Arts at Old Dominion University for 10 years teaching Jazz History, Music Theory and Improvisation. Eddie has been a Studio Musician for 25 years performing on jingles, television and motion picture soundtracks. He has performed with artist such as Carter Beauford, Tim Reynolds, Gladys Knight, Burt Bacharach and Randy Brecker. Currently, Eddie is performing with singer/song writer, Karl Werne.

Justin Avery was born in Traverse City, Michigan, where he grew up watching music in his dad’s nightclub, Dill’s Olde Town Saloon. He was exposed to all kinds of music in the club: rock, blues, R&B, jazz, and others. Along with being a club owner, his dad played guitar, sang, and put together extravagant shows. His mother was a prolific artist and painter. It’s no surprise that Justin was brought up with music and always had an affinity for performing, writing, and recording music.
He has performed with artists Sheila E., Katy Perry, The Emotions, Billy Ray Cyrus, Terrence Howard (Iron Man actor), Naturi Naughton (actor/singer, Fame), Kenna, Lea Michelle (Glee) and Meat Loaf. Justin has been an arranger for American Idol since 2019. Randy Jackson is the lead singer/guitarist for the rock band Zebra. Randy’s first foray into recording success began with the self-titled Zebra debut album, released on Atlantic Records in 1983. Critically acclaimed for its lush rock sounds, due in large part to Jackson’s searing lead vocals and soaring guitar leads, the album sold 75,000 copies the first week. “Who’s Behind The Door” and “Tell Me What You Want”, written by Jackson, received serious notice in the press, and helped to form legions of Zebra fans almost instantly. The latest Zebra release, “Zebra IV”, was also produced and engineered by Jackson.
Randy toured as keyboardist, guitarist and backing vocalist in 1989 with the original, reunited Jefferson Airplane, their last tour together. He has also worked extensively in the area of musical software and hardware development.

Picking up the guitar at age 12, Steve Zukowsky quickly learned to play by ear from the guitar heroes of the ’70s: Jimmy Page, Brian May, Michael Schenker, Ronnie Montrose, Pat Travers, and others. After seeing Led Zeppelin at one of the final U.S. concerts in 1977, Steve became a die-hard student of the Jimmy Page guitar technique. He remembers, “As soon as I got home from the show, I ran to get my guitar and figured out how to play ‘Over the Hills and Far Away’ right then!”
Steve was a pioneer of the Southern California Tribute Band scene with Sheer Heart Attack—A Royal Tribute to Queen, which debuted in 1993, and was featured in the indie documentary, Tribute—The Movie.
Steve became well-known from the success of Sheer Heart Attack, and for the many other tribute bands he’s been involved in, including Which One’s Pink? (Pink Floyd), Fireball (Deep Purple), Visions (Rush), and Led Zepagain (Led Zeppelin).
Steve is currently a member of the acclaimed Led Zeppelin tribute band, Zeppelin USA, with fellow Windborne artist, singer Brody Dolyniuk, as well as the touring Laser Spectacular shows, “Shine On” (the music of Pink Floyd) and “British Rock Royalty” (the music of Pink Floyd, The Who, Queen, and Led Zeppelin).
