Installment 3:
Meet our two youngest Ima Hogg Competition contestants: Laura and Alan. 18 year old violinist Laura Park, from Des Plaines, IL, has been studying at the Music Institute of Chicago Academy and will be attending The Curtis Institute of Music in the fall. As the youngest participant in the competition, Laura is planning on going into the competition with an open mind and hopes to play the best she can. 20 year old pianist Alan Woo, grew up in Northern Virginia and is currently attending The Juilliard School. This will be Alan’s first visit to Houston and he is looking forward to trying some world-famous Houston BBQ. For such young musicians to rise to the top as semi-finalists in this competition, there will surely be no signs of their youth in their brilliant playing.
