Christian Wiggs is a seventeen year old musician from Lake Jackson, Texas, where he attends Brazoswood High School. He was introduced to music at a very young age through his musically oriented family. By the age of four, he had already begun singing and acting in his local theater, Brazosport Center Stages. He has participated in many productions there, including Oliver, Wizard of Oz, Beauty and The Beast, and Sweeney Todd. He is currently portraying the Courier in 1776.
Since the age of twelve, Christian has been performing trumpet and participating in multiple Region 17 bands and choirs. For the past two years, Christian has been classically trained in vocal studies through private lessons by Will Hearn. In addition to studying voice, he is a part of the Brazoswood Symphonic Band, which was recently named the 2013 5A TMEA Honor Band. As well as these organizations, Christian performs in Brazoswood’s P.M. Jazz ensemble on trumpet and voice.
“I am blessed beyond words with incredible music educators and musicians such as Brian Casey, Martin Montoya, David Hill, Will Hearn, and many others.” When he isn’t performing music, Christian enjoys cinema and studying film almost as much as music.
Hear Christian open for The Contemporary Songbook with Tony DeSare this weekend on January 24, 25, and 26. Christian will begin performing in the Jones Hall lobby one hour before each concert. For tickets and concert information, click here.
