Biography

Samantha Washecka is originally from Austin, Texas, and recently moved to Houston where she is currently in pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in psychology and music from Rice University under the tutelage of Kathleen Winkler.

As an avid orchestral musician, she has participated in festivals such as the Tanglewood Music Center, the Aspen Music Festival and School, Spoleto Festival USA, and was a member of the 2023 NYO-USA Orchestra. Most recently, she won the 2026 Shepherd School Concerto Competition with her performance of the Brahms Violin Concerto, and will solo with the Shepherd School Symphony next year.

Outside of music, she enjoys baking, crocheting, and making stained glass.
