Biography
Bradley White is the Associate Principal and Second Trombone of the Houston Symphony, a position he has held since joining the orchestra in the fall of 2001. A native Houstonian, he earned his Bachelor of Music in Trombone Performance from Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music in 1993. He continued his studies at the Manhattan School of Music in New York City, where he received his Master of Music in 1997.
An active orchestral and freelance musician, Brad has performed with the Houston Ballet, Houston Grand Opera Orchestra, San Antonio Symphony, Hawaii Symphony, and Atlanta Symphony and numerous chamber groups. He maintains a private teaching studio in Houston and is passionate about sharing the insights gained from overcoming Bell’s palsy—an injury that forced him to relearn the instrument from the ground up.
Brad is married to Maura White, who works at NASA. They are the proud parents of twin daughters who are quickly becoming young adults. The family also shares their home with two dogs, three cats, and two ferrets, all of whom are dearly loved.
