Impact

Led by Music Director Juraj Valčuha, the Grammy Award–winning Houston Symphony is one of America’s premier orchestras and a cultural cornerstone of Texas. Founded in 1913, the Symphony now enters its second century of artistic excellence.

Each year, the Symphony presents more than 150 concerts and reaches nearly 200,000 people through over 600 free and low-cost performances across Houston. Its Education and Community Engagement initiatives—including student concerts, after-school programs, and partnerships with leading medical institutions—expand access to high-quality arts experiences for all.

With a vision centered on artistic excellence, community engagement, and accessibility, the Houston Symphony remains a cultural leader in Houston and a global ambassador for the transformative power of music. From concert halls to classrooms, parks to hospitals—the Houston Symphony reaches across the city to bring extraordinary experiences to all Houstonians.
