Installment 2:
28 year old harpist, Megan Levin – Shepherd School of Music graduate, native Texan originally from Austin, and current resident of Brooklyn, NY – is thrilled to be returning to Houston to compete in the Ima Hogg Competition, and especially to indulge in Houston’s great culture and food during her stay. Similarly, 27 year old pianist Andrew Straupe, who is currently a DMA candidate at Rice, after growing up in St. Paul, MN and attending the University of Minnesota, makes the suggestion for non-Houstonians that “they must eat, and eat and eat…and eat” when visiting our fair city. “The food in Houston is fantastic.” Hear these semi-finalists compete on Thursday May 31st to find out if they will progress to the finals and perform with the Houston Symphony on Saturday June 2nd.
