This individual will work closely with board committees, event chairs, volunteer leadership, and cross-departmental colleagues to meet and exceed revenue goals while executing events that reflect the Houston Symphony's artistic excellence, sophistication, and community standing.
Reporting to the Director, Special Events, this position implements event management details for the Symphony’s major galas, general cultivation, and donor events.
The Development Officer serves as a key fundraiser on the Development team, working to identify individuals with the potential to make meaningful gifts to the Houston Symphony and demonstrating donor-centric moves management through the fundraising cycle.
The Development Associate, Annual Giving provides administrative and operational support to help the Houston Symphony achieve its fundraising goals through donor communications, data management, reporting, and team coordination.
The Director of Orchestra Personnel oversees all administrative and operational aspects of the Houston Symphony’s orchestra personnel function.
The Stage Manager provides essential support to the Director of Concert Operations and the Operations team, performing assigned concert operations activities and proactively maintaining a safe and friendly backstage environment.
Uphold and embody the Symphony’s customer service mission through proactively offering superior service, personalized care, and a positive experience that exceeds customer expectations.

Audition Application – Resumé FormThe Houston Symphony has a 52-week season which includes 9 weeks of paid vacation with a minimum annual salary of $113, 360 for the 2025-26 contract year for all permanent musicians. Benefits include health/dental/vision insurance, instrument insurance, disability insurance, and pension contributions to the AFM-EPF.com
Successful candidates from the Houston Symphony substitute and extra musician auditions will be placed on the substitute pool list for possible engagement with the orchestra as needed. Substitute and extra musicians are engaged on per-service basis at the rate of $218.00, as of October 5, 2025.

All singers who wish to be considered for placement in the chorus will participate in a five-part audition, including vocalization, an intonation exercise, sight-reading, and a choral component.
