Student Concerts

Part of The Robbins Foundation Student Concert Series, the Houston Symphony’s Middle School Concerts, presented by the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, are 55-minute, full orchestra concerts, presented in Jones Hall for grades 6-8 band and orchestra students.

Meet the Instruments Video Series
Through this series of 2-3 minute videos, introduce students to the instruments of the orchestra as Houston Symphony musicians perform and share why they chose to play their specific instrument. These videos are designed to support recruitment efforts with a personalized message from the Symphony’s musicians.

Musical Explorations Video Series
Explore Houston Symphony performances through this series of 10-15-minute videos featuring brief clips from the 2020-21 season’s Live from Jones Hall concerts. Videos also include guided listening prompts from the Symphony’s musicians and extensions for middle school band and orchestra students to explore musical concepts on their own.
