Competitions

Catch tomorrow's stars today! At competitions sponsored by the Houston Symphony, many young musicians get the experience to compete at the highest level for nationally-recognized judges who are experts in their musical fields. These competitions are an important part of the development of musicians who would like to make this their life's work.

Through the support of the Houston Symphony League, the Orchestra provides opportunities for students in secondary schools and for young adults ages 16-29:

Houston Symphony League Concerto Competition

One of the oldest projects of the Houston Symphony League, this Competition is open to student musicians 18 years of age or younger who have not yet graduated from high school and who play any standard orchestral instrument or piano.
