Catch tomorrow's stars today! At competitions sponsored by the Houston Symphony, many young musicians get the experience to compete at the highest level for nationally-recognized judges who are experts in their musical fields. These competitions are an important part of the development of musicians who would like to make this their life's work.
Through the support of the Houston Symphony League, the Orchestra provides opportunities for students in secondary schools and for young adults ages 16-29:
Houston Symphony League Concerto Competition
One of the oldest projects of the Houston Symphony League, this Competition
is open to student musicians 18 years of age or younger who have not yet graduated
from high school and who play any standard orchestral instrument or piano.

Houston Symphony Ima Hogg Young Artist Competition
Named to honor the memory of Miss Hogg, a co-founder of the Houston Symphony,
this prestigious Competition is open to young musicians between the ages of
16 and 29 who play standard orchestral instruments or piano.
